Compass Minerals’ $4.9 Million Investor Deal Gets Court Sendoff

Compass Minerals International Inc. garnered a federal judge’s approval of $4.9 million agreement to resolve allegations it misled shareholders over its now-shuttered wildfire retardant unit’s quality.

The final blessing Wednesday comes months after Judge Eric F. Melgren approved Compass’ $48 million class accord to end a lawsuit concerning its representations about the costs and abilities of its updated salt mining system.
