Dollar Tree Faces $500,000 Fine for New Blocked Exit Violations

Dollar Tree Inc. faces new safety citations and a $523,745 fine for allegedly blocking exits and creating storage hazards at a Boston store.

This is the second in a week the Labor Department announced citations against Dollar Tree.

Responding to a complaint, Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspectors found employees in the Boston store were exposed to fire hazards from obstructed exit routes, overstocked materials, and electrical hazards from blocked working spaces around electrical panels, the agency said in a Thursday statement.
