Samsung Phone Buyers Dismiss Camera Glass Breakage Claims

Claims by two Samsung Galaxy S20 phone purchasers who weren’t compelled to arbitrate their challenges over allegedly shatter-prone camera glass have been voluntarily dropped for now, according to an order issued Wednesday by a federal court in New Jersey.

Jean Vasadi and 19 others filed a proposed class action in April alleging Samsung Electronics America Inc. touted the phones’ professional-grade camera but failed to disclose that the rear camera glass could spontaneously break. The phones sold for up to $1,600.
