Samsonite Outlet Customer Voluntarily Drops Fake-Sale Suit

A woman who alleged that Samsonite Co. Stores LLC uses fake sales to dupe outlet store customers has voluntarily dropped her claims against the retailer, according to a filing in federal court in California.

Kristen Schertzer alleged she bought a a Samsonite On Air 3 Hardside Spinner 20-inch suitcase for $167.99, which was represented as 40% off the regular price.

But the sale was bogus, she alleged, and the supposed regular price was a fictitious inflated price designed to make consumers think they are getting great deals.
