Samsonite Avoids Outlet Store Fake-Pricing Challenge

Samsonite Company Stores LLC won dismissal of a proposed class suit challenging pricing policies in its outlet stores, as a federal trial court in California said plaintiff Kristen Schertzer didn’t support claims that the pricing scheme is misleading.

Schertzer alleged she bought a a Samsonite On Air 3 Hardside Spinner 20-inch suitcase for $167.99, which was represented as 40% off the regular price.

She alleged the sale was bogus, and the supposed regular price was a fictitious inflated price designed to make consumers think they are getting great deals.
