Rust-Oleum Sued Over ‘Non-Toxic’ Krud Kutter Product Labels (1)

Rust-Oleum Corp. was hit Wednesday with a would-be class suit in a California federal court alleging it misleadingly markets its Krud Kutter line as non-toxic and earth-friendly, taking unfair advantage of consumers’ desire for safe cleaning products.

Consumers have become increasingly concerned in recent years about using household cleaning products, seeking those that are safe for people, pets, and the environment, and have poured billions of dollars into the “ecofriendly” and “natural” cleaning-products market, the suit alleges.

The Krud Kutter suit joins similar recent suits against the makers of Windex and Simple Green cleaning products.
