Norwegian Cruise Line Sued Over Go-Kart Track Injuries

Norwegian Cruise Line should be held liable for a California woman’s injuries from a shipboard go-kart track crash, a new lawsuit alleges.

The May 24 complaint is the latest filed over onboard attractions that include zip-lines, water parks, and other amenities that can cause injury. Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., for example, was sued in April by a passenger injured in a simulated surfing attraction.

Cruise lines typically argue that passengers assume the the risks of such attractions and that those risks are open and obvious to participants.
