Royal Caribbean Sued Again Over Shipboard Surfing Attraction

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. should be held liable for a man’s injuries from a defectively designed and improperly supervised simulated surfing attraction on a cruise ship, a new lawsuit claims.

Richard Mowery’s April 12 complaint also alleges Royal Caribbean didn’t adequately investigate similar injuries involving the FlowRider activity both before and after he was thrown from the ride aboard the Oasis of the Seas last year.

The lawsuit is the latest alleging the FlowRider is dangerous when installed on Royal Caribbean cruise ships subject to changing wave and weather conditions. At least six lawsuits have been filed against the cruise ...
