A $3.25 million class settlement resolving allegations that a Younique LLC “natural” mascara product was deceptively marketed because it contained ground-up nylon won final approval from a federal court in California.
The U.S. District Court for the Central District of California also approved the plaintiffs’ attorneys’ fee request of $1.08 million, some 33% of the settlement amount.
Meghan Schmitt and others alleged Younique falsely touted its “Moonstruck 3D Fiber Lashes” as consisting of “transplanting gel” and fibers that were “100% natural” and made from “green tea.”
The court preliminarily approved the settlement last September. No objections were filed.
