McCormick $2.5 Million Underfilled Pepper Tin Deal Gets Early OK

McCormick & Co. and consumers in three states got early approval from a District of Columbia federal court for a $2.5 million class deal resolving allegations the spice company tricked purchasers with underfilled pepper tins and grinders.

The settlement is fair, reasonable, and adequate, and provides substantial relief to the California, Florida, and Missouri consumers, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia said.

The court set a June 3 final approval hearing.
