EPA Delays, Signals Possible Change to Major PFAS Reporting Rule

Companies that made PFAS or imported goods with the chemicals between 2011 and 2022 will have more time to report those activities to the EPA under an interim final rule that also invites comment on possible revisions to the rule that required the data.

Companies must report a broad range of data—including chemical identity and structure, production, use, byproducts, exposure, disposal, and health and environmental effects—for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) by April 13, 2026, the Environmental Protection Agency said on Monday.
