EPA Gives Chemical Makers More Time to Submit Critical Data

The EPA is delaying from Sept. 30 to Nov. 22 the deadline for chemical manufacturers and importers to submit data the agency uses for potential rulemaking and to increase public awareness.

The Environmental Protection Agency said Friday it’s delaying the deadline because problems with the online data submission tool could fail to protect confidential business information (CBI) claims companies make to prevent the public and competitors from knowing the identity of a chemical they produce or import.
