Sprint and T-Mobile Ask Court to Void FCC Data-Sharing Fines

Sprint Corp. and T-Mobile USA Inc. asked an appeals court to throw out fines from the Federal Communications Commission issued after the regulator found the companies illegally shared customers’ location information without consent.

“The penalties imposed are unlawful, arbitrary, and capricious,” the companies told the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit in an opening brief filed Nov. 25, asking the court to vacate the FCC’s orders and refund the penalty amounts.
