T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon Fined $200 Million for Data Sharing (1)

The Federal Communications Commission on Monday fined T-Mobile US Inc., Verizon Communications Inc. and AT&T Inc. a collective $200 million for illegally sharing customers’ location information without consent.

Sprint and T-Mobile, which merged since the investigation began, face fines of more than $12 million and $80 million respectively. AT&T was fined more than $57 million and Verizon was fined almost $47 million.

The companies said they intend to appeal the fines.
