Sling TV Shared Personal Data of Millions of Users, Suit Says

Streaming provider Sling TV LLC used a series of “surreptitious” tracking tools to record and share users’ activity on its site with third-party providers including Meta Platforms Inc., according to a proposed class action.

The platform disclosed millions of users’ personally identifiable information, including their entire viewing history, without their knowledge or consent, violating the Video Privacy Protection Act, according to the complaint filed July 19 in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
