Shopify Loses Bid to Stay Class Action Over Crypto Wallet Breach

E-commerce platform Shopify Inc. lost its bid to pause a class action lawsuit brought over a data breach that compromised the cryptocurrency portfolios of Leger SAS customers, after a federal judge in Delaware ruled that a stay likely wouldn’t affect the suit.

Gregory Forsberg and his co-plaintiffs claimed that the 2020 data breach affected Leger SAS cryptocurrency hardware wallets, which had contracted with third-party vendors Shopify and TaskUs to operate its online store and provide customer support.
