Lincare Holdings Inc. will pay $7.25 million to settle allegations that its negligent data security practices led to a 2021 data breach that exposed the personal and medical information of more than 1,000 customers.
US Magistrate Judge Amanda A. Sansone of the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida granted the plaintiffs’ unopposed motion for final approval of the class action settlement, according to a June 24 filing.
- Plaintiffs first filed a complaint against the medical services provider in June 2022.
- $2.42 million of the settlement pool will go toward attorneys’ fees, the decision said.
