Lincare Holdings Inc. faces a proposed class action over a data breach that exposed the personal and medical information of more than 1,000 customers.
Catherine Cottam claims that the medical services provider was negligent in securing the data of its customers, causing their contact information, demographic information, Social Security numbers, medical data, insurance information, and credit cards to be compromised.
Lincare took more than eight months to notify customers that their data had been breached, Cottam said in her complaint, filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
