LendingTree Barred From Arbitrating Snowflake Data Breach Claims

LendingTree LLC can’t avoid a proposed class lawsuit over its customers’ data being compromised in the Snowflake cybersecurity incident, after a federal court said the individual arbitration clause in LendingTree’s terms of use couldn’t be enforced.

The online lending marketplace was one of “as many as” 165 companies and organizations, alongside Ticketmaster, Advance Auto, and Los Angeles Unified School District, impacted by the breach of Snowflake’s data cloud business, according to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the District of Montana.
