Judge Consolidates Suits Over Avis Data Breach of 300,000 People

Ten proposed class actions accusing Avis Budget Group Inc. and its Avis Rent A Car System LLC of failing to implement basic security measures, leading to an August data breach that leaked the personal data of more than 300,000 consumers, were consolidated by a federal judge.

District Judge Michael A. Hammer granted the motion to consolidate cases Tuesday, in an order in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey.
