Avis Sued Over Leak of 300,000 Consumers’ Information in Breach

Avis Rent A Car System LLC‘s mishandling of basic security protections exposed the personal information of more than 300,000 consumers in an August data breach, according to a proposed class action.

The data breach exposed consumers’ names, driver’s license numbers, dates of birth, credit card numbers, and phone numbers, according to the complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey.
