Iowa Adds to Consumer Privacy Patchwork With New State Law (1)

Iowa has become the sixth state in the US to enact a comprehensive privacy law that aims to give consumers more control over protecting their personal data.

Signed by Gov. Kim Reynolds (R) on Tuesday, the law joins data protections in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Virginia adopted in the absence of a federal standard. More than a dozen state legislatures are currently considering similar privacy measures.
