Google Settles Lawsuit Over Privacy Concerns With Covid Tracing

Alphabet Inc.‘s Google is settling a proposed class action filed in California over privacy concerns with its Covid-19 exposure notification system.

Google and users of apps based on its mobile contact tracing mechanism are finalizing a settlement agreement, according to a notice filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. The notice didn’t detail terms of the settlement.

A lawyer for the app users declined to comment. One of Google’s lawyers didn’t respond to a request for comment.
