Google, Ad Tech Firms Face New Batch of EU Privacy Complaints

Alphabet Inc.'s Google and other advertising technology companies are facing fresh privacy complaints in four European Union nations, according to ad-blocking web browser Brave.

The new complaints, filed May 20 in Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands, allege the tech firms disseminate personal data to solicit potential ad bids in violation of the General Data Protection Regulation, according to a statement released by Brave.

“Today’s filings extend the complaints initially filed in Ireland, the UK and Poland, to a total of seven EU countries,” Brave said in the statement.
