Google and other advertising technology firms are targeted by a complaint filed to Irish and U.K. data privacy regulators by Brave, a company that makes an ad-blocking web browser.
Brave posted comments about the complaint in a website statement.
Ad tech firms disseminate personal data to solicit potential ad bids, according to the statement.
Broadcasting bid requests “fails to protect these intimate data against unauthorized access. Under the GDPR this is unlawful,” Brave said.
