Ex-Michigan Governor’s Aide Loses Suit Over Flint Water Charges

A federal judge on Friday tossed a civil rights lawsuit filed against prosecutors by a former Michigan governor’s adviser who faced charges for the Flint water crisis that were later dismissed.

Richard L. Baird’s suit against Attorney General Dana Nessel (D), former Chief Deputy Attorney General Fadwa Hammoud, and Wayne County Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy (D) fails because they’re immune due to legal protections afforded to prosecutors and government officials, Judge Robert J. White of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan said.
