A former Michigan governor’s special adviser, who was unsuccessfully prosecuted for the Flint water crisis, has sued the state attorney general and others in federal court, saying they violated his constitutional rights.
Richard L. Baird, who worked for ex-Gov. Rick Snyder (R), says in a lawsuit filed Monday that state Attorney General Dana Nessel (D) and other prosecutors harmed him because he was charged with felonies in January 2021 through a unique court proceeding that involves a judge reviewing evidence and deciding whether to issue an indictment.
