Canon Business, GE Data Breach Deal Wins Initial Approval

The settlement between Canon Business Process Services Inc., General Electric Co. and more than 10,000 former and current GE employees over a data breach is on track after a federal judge in Manhattan granted preliminary approval of the deal.

The proposed settlement includes $3,500 per class member plus additional funds for time lost remedying issues traceable to the data breach at $18 per hour for up to four hours.

Judge Katherine Polk Failla of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York granted preliminary approval of the proposed settlement Wednesday.
