BMO Bank Agrees to Settle Consumer Suit Over Meta Info Sharing

BMO Bank NA has reached a deal to end a proposed class action alleging it disclosed consumers’ personal information to Meta Platforms Inc., Google LLC, and other third parties in violation of California privacy laws.

The bank and lead plaintiff John Tasker filed a joint notice of settlement Thursday to Judge Georgia N. Alexakis of the US District Court for the Central District of California. The filing comes six weeks after Tasker reached a settlement of a similar lawsuit he had filed against Truist Financial.
