Alexa Voice Capture Privacy Suit Tossed Again by District Judge

Amazon Inc. won’t have to face claims in a federal suit that it collected voice data from its Alexa devices in violation of privacy and consumer protections.

Judge Barbara Rothstein of the US District Court for the Western District of Washington on Tuesday dismissed a plaintiff motion to file an amended complaint after initially dismissing the case in January.

Rothstein in both decisions sided with Amazon’s argument that the claims against the company would fail as a matter of law.
