Harvey Weinstein will face an April 14 retrial on a rape charge that ended in a hung jury last year, a New York judge said on Wednesday, giving him another shot to fight an allegation that kickstarted the #MeToo movement.
The ex-movie mogul will go to trial with a new defense team after hiring the attorneys that helped Sean “Diddy” Combs largely prevail at a sex trafficking trial last year. Weinstein’s new legal team, Agnifilo Intrater, is also representing Luigi Mangione on murder charges and Oren Alexander on sex trafficking charges.
