With Bove on Bench, NJ Gun Owners Seek ‘Sensitive Places’ Rehearing

New Jersey gun owners have filed a pair of Third Circuit rehearing petitions, hoping to get their case before recent Trump appointee Emil Bove.

Organizations like Second Amendment Foundation and a group of private firearm owners are requesting a second look from the whole of the Philadelphia-based federal appeals court, claiming that a three-judge panel’s September ruling diverged with US Supreme Court understanding of constitutional rights to carry guns.

That ruling largely upheld New Jersey’s “sensitive places” restrictions on the carry of firearms, prohibiting firearms in locations for civil or government functions, education institutions, entertainment venues, casinos, hospitals, public transportation, ...
