Wesson Oil Marketing Settlement Gets Initial Green Light

Conagra Foods Inc. and class members got initial approval of a settlement in a Wesson Oil marketing suit that includes injunctive relief valued at $27 million.

The deal, which also includes money damages for purchasers in 11 states, heads for an Oct. 7 final approval hearing in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

Robert Briseno and others alleged Conagra misled them into overpaying for “natural” Wesson Oil that contained genetically modified ingredients.
