UPPAbaby Stroller Maker Fails to Quash Patent Infringement Case

Monahan Products LLC, which does business as UPPAbaby, must face allegations that some of its strollers are infringing patents registered to Baby Jogger LLC.

UPPAbaby failed to show the claims are barred by equitable estoppel even though Baby Jogger didn’t initiate the litigation for eight years after notifying the company of the alleged infringement, Judge Allison D. Burroughs of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts said in a Tuesday order denying UPPAbaby summary judgment.

Baby Jogger sued several competitors last year, asserting companies including UPPAbaby were infringing five of its patents related to convertible strollers.
