Ubisoft Suit Tossed as Judge Finds Users Approved Data Sharing

Ubisoft Inc. defeated a proposed class action after demonstrating to a federal judge the company obtained sufficient consent to share information from customers who downloaded games from its site with Facebook.

It would be futile to amend the complaint after the plaintiffs consented to tracking cookies and affirmed they read Ubisoft’s privacy policy, Judge Trina L. Thompson of the US District Court for the Northern District of California said Wednesday.
