Uber Unable to Toss All of FTC’s Subscription Cancellation Suit

Uber Technologies Inc. failed to completely escape the Federal Trade Commission’s deceptive subscription cancellation suit after a federal judge in California refused to toss all the agency’s claims.

Judge Jon S. Tigar of the US District Court for the Northern District of California dismissed a subclaim over Uber’s "$0 delivery fee” representation, but allowed other deception claims to proceed. The court also dismissed the agency’s state law allegations without prejudice.
