Uber Technologies Inc. board members and executives were sued Monday for allegedly devoting insufficient resources for customer safety and setting a tone of noncompliance for the company.

The officers’ breach of their duties have exposed Uber to significant legal exposure, having faced thousands of lawsuits from victims of sexual assault and regulators for violating disability and consumer protection laws, according to a stockholder derivative complaint filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
