Transgender Minors Shut Out of Gender-Affirming Care in Kentucky

Kentucky can continue enforcing its gender-affirming care ban for minors while litigation over the law’s constitutionality proceeds, a federal appeals court said.

The US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit on Monday refused to lift a stay on an order that had blocked the ban, saying the minor plaintiffs and their parents hadn’t shown they’re likely to succeed on claims that the state law violates their equal protection and parental rights.
