Trader Joe’s Reaches Settlement in Covid-19 Religious Bias Suit

Trader Joe’s Co. reached a settlement resolving a former store manager’s wrongful firing lawsuit after his religious discrimination claims were narrowed to retaliation.

Gregg Crawford claimed a religious exemption to the grocer’s Covid-19 vaccination policy, which meant that he couldn’t attend a meeting for captains that was considered mandatory for a good performance review. When he sent a letter through his lawyer requesting that his failure to attend not count against him, he was terminated.
