Trader Joe’s Accused of Barring Unvaccinated Worker From Meeting

Trader Joe’s Co. refused to allow an evangelical Christian store manager to participate in an annual meeting because he declined Covid-19 vaccination on religious grounds, a federal lawsuit in California charged.

Gregg Crawford said the ban was enforced even though he had been with the company for 26 years and had been approved for a religious-based exemption from Trader Joe’s rule that store managers had to be vaccinated against coronavirus.

His supervisor called him July 15—the day before the mandatory vaccination policy became effective—and told him that only vaccinated employees would be permitted to attend the company’s upcoming “Leaders Meeting,” ...
