‘The Goat’ of Roof Ladders Scores Default Judgment Over Rival

Wisconsin roof climbing toolmaker The Goat LLC won a default judgment and permanent injunction against a competitor The Goat accused of patent and trademark infringement.

The competitor, Advanced Wholesale LLC, and its founder Nicholas Newgard, missed the deadline to respond to The Goat’s complaint, according to a federal court. After Newgard responded to The Goat’s request for a default judgment by asking the court for more time, Advanced and Newgard still didn’t appear to defend themselves, the court said.
