‘The Goat’ of Roof Ladders Accuses Rival of Patent, TM Theft

A Wisconsin roof climbing toolmaker sued an in-state competitor for patent and trademark infringement following alleged unauthorized sales of its devices.

The Goat LLC alleged that a company that had previously bought and sold its patented “Roof Climbing Tool” for resale had “replicated” the device around November 2022 and began making “unauthorized sales” to customers, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
