Texas Law Firm Beats Former Executive’s Wrongful Firing Claims

Roberts Markel Weinberg Butler Hailey PC prevailed in a former executive’s case alleging he was fired for refusing to create a fake role for a Russian woman at the managing shareholder’s request.

Judge David Hittner of the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas granted the firm summary judgment Monday, after Shawn Isakson failed to respond to an April 17 motion. Isakson, who was working remotely for the firm in Montana at the time of his termination, asserted violations of Montana state law and a claim for wrongful termination under the Texas Sabine Pilot doctrine.
