Teva, CVS Again Trim Suit Alleging Carcinogens in Diabetes Drugs

Teva Pharmaceuticals USA Inc., CVS Health Corp., and other companies once again succeeded in cutting claims from a proposed class suit in a New Jersey federal court alleging they made and sold generic diabetes drugs tainted with a probable cancer-causing substance.

Seven individuals and MSP Recover Claims Series LLC sued manufacturers and pharmacy chains, alleging the metformin drugs were rendered worthless because of contamination with N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA).

The U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey previously found that the individual consumers lacked standing because they didn’t allege that they bought or took any drugs containing NDMA ...
