Teva, Others Win Dismissal of Diabetes Drug Carcinogen Suit

Teva Pharmaceuticals USA Inc., Walgreens, and others won a New Jersey federal court’s dismissal, for now, of a proposed class suit alleging they produced and sold contaminated generic diabetes drugs.

Seven named individuals and one company sued 16 manufacturers and four pharmacy chains, alleging they manufactured and marketed metformin drugs that were rendered worthless because of contamination with N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), a probable human carcinogen.
