TCL Grabs Latest Win Over Paxton’s Texas TV Spying Claims

TCL Technology Group North America Inc. defeated claims from the state of Texas alleging it records what TV viewers watch without their consent, the latest setback for Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) in a series of digital spying lawsuit cases.

Jurisdiction over the California-based company “is lacking for the claims asserted in this matter,” Judge Rick Kennon of the 512th District Court wrote in an order Tuesday.

Kennon announced the decision days after a hearing March 27 in Williamson County, north of Austin.
