States’ Teacher Grant Claims Split by Jurisdictional Ruling (1)

States suing the Education Department must pursue their claims over hundreds of millions in canceled teacher training grants in two separate courts, a federal judge said Thursday.

Judge Angel Kelley of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts said California and seven other states would have to fight in the US Court of Federal Claims to reinstate $250 million in teacher training grants the Trump administration canceled for allegedly promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.
