California Sues to Unlock $148 Million for Teacher Training (1)

California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced a new lawsuit against the Trump administration over its attempt to yank funds for teacher training programs, with $148 million in grants for California programs on the line.

Bonta is co-leading a group of seven Democratic state attorneys general who stand to lose $250 million in teacher preparation funds, meant to address teacher shortages. Across the country, similar blocks are expected to impact $600 million in funds from Washington.
