A Trump administration decision to terminate for Somalis a special immigration status, known as TPS, is paused for now, US District Judge Allison D. Burroughs of District of Massachusetts said in a Friday order.
Burroughs granted an administrative stay to give the administration a chance to respond to an emergency request for relief sought by several Somali nationals on March 9.
Set to expire March 17, the Temporary Protected Status for Somalis will instead continue until Burroughs decides the preliminary challenges.
