‘Smart Glass’ Maker View Inc. Defeats Investor Accounting Claims

View Inc. investors have fallen short for now in asserting a variety of claims against the adjusting-tint glass maker, blank-check sponsor Cantor Fitzgerald LP, and auditor PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP for securities fraud related to window warranty accounting.

The investors failed to establish their statutory standing to bring claims for false statements in a registration statement and prospectus, Judge Beth Labson Freeman said Monday for the US District Court for the Northern District of California. They also failed to adequately allege several aspects of securities fraud, she said.

A derivative suit containing similar allegations was filed May 9 in the same district. ...
